Prevalence of helminth infection in the Gallus domesticus at Aurangabad region Maharashtra, India

Abstract
The study on the prevalence of Helminth parasites from the host Gallus gallus domesticus (Linnaeus, 1758) were carried out at Aurangabad region during one year annual cycle (June 2009 to May 2010). The survey indicated that out of (195) gastrointestinal tracts of host Gallus gallus domesticus (chickens) 96 hosts were found to be infected with Helminth parasites. The host were collected and examined for helminth parasites and it was found that the same genera were identified and the prevalence of the genus from Cestode parasites Raillietina fuhrmann (11.35%), Cotugnia diamare (12.82%) Amoebotaenia cohn (8.20%) and nematode Ascaridia galli (7.69%); Heterakis dujardin (6.66%) and the overall prevalence was (49.23%).
