Abstract
Direct benefits of social forestry programmes where labour wages were paid to the participants of community plantations and special farm forestry schemes were initiated for SC/ST families. Seedlings were made available to all the interested farmers free of cost or at subsidized price. There were 80.50 per cent respondents who received seedlings free of cost and only 19.50 per cent were supplied at a subsidized cost.
