Abstract
The article discusses the layout of the main and emergency ship power plants, the principle of using the emergency power plant and methods for checking the functioning of the emergency diesel-generator. Attention is paid to the requirements of Іnternational maritime classification societies. Analysis and recommendations for optimizing periodic checks of the
auto start system of an emergency diesel-generator are provided.
