Analysis of the debris mud flow of Tiquipaya - Bolivia 2018: identification of causes, risks and actions

Abstract
February 2018, the Municipality of Tiquipaya was affected by a debris mud flow from the entrance of the Taquiña River in its lower basin, causing floods and accumulations of mud and debris of great magnitude. The study of this event is important because with the appropriate prevention measures it will be possible to reduce/avoid similar events in the future. This article aims to inform, about the main causes of the debris mud flow and the preventive measures, through international research, data consultation and analysis, using the necessary information from related public institutions.
