Abstract
The article presents the results of the study of ceramics discovered during the study of barrows of the Scythian-Saka period at the Chineta 2 burial ground, located in the Krasnoshchyokovo district of the Altai Krai. The site contains signs of the burial rite of the Pazyryk and Kamensk cultures. The study of the pottery collection was carried out within the historical and cultural approach and is based on the features of the functioning and spread of pottery technology systems. As a result of the research, it was found that ceramics are made of local raw materials with a large amount of natural impurities. Ceramics were fired with oxygen access at a temperature of about 700 ° C. Many wares are painted with ochre, decorated with bands and imprints of non- denticulate tools. Despite some originality and the presence of vessels with unusual features for the complex, ceramics from the Chineta-2 burial ground do not differ fundamentally from the Pazyryk one either in the shape of vessels or other signs, but have analogies in the burial sites of the Middle Katun and Southeastern Altai. In the collection from Chineta-2, several pairs of saucers were identified, most likely made by three groups of potters. According to a number of signs of individual similarity of ceramics, it was found that 8 of the 16 barrows were created during short chronological period . The data obtained confirm the processes of close interaction of nomads in the Scythian-Saka period in the Northwestern Altai.
