Abstract
This paper presents SafeStorage, an enterprise-grade secure data storage and sharing system designed to be layered over untrusted server and open commination channel. SafeStorage assumes a semi-honest server model and employs various proven-secure cryptographic techniques to ensure end-to-end security and protect data privacy against malicious attacks from the server or open communication channel. SafeStorage achieves all the important characteristics for a secure data storage and sharing system, in particular, we propose an efficient and intuitive access control scheme based on a tree structure for key management. In the design of SafeStorage, simplicity is greatly focused, which gives SafeStorage a great potential of being used as foundation for the development of advanced features.
