Abstract

The paper is devoted to the study of the axiosphere and ethnopoetics of children’s prose by the Mari writer M. Shketan. Special attention is paid to the study of values conditioned by the cultural context, the description in terms of poetics of what defines the prose of this writer as “Mari”. The relevance of the research is due to the need to study the value nature of Mari literature and artistic forms of the embodiment of ethnic mentality. The aim of this study is to identify universal and ethnic values, to show the combination of universal poetics with ethnopoetics, to explore the folklore and ethnographic intertext contributing to the disclosure of the “national image of the world” in the children’s prose of M. Shketan.
