Abstract
The growing demand for renewable and sustainable energy sources is driving the search for economically viable alternatives, such as wood pellet production. This article presents an economic analysis of a factory located in western Paraná, aiming to assess the financial viability of pellet production from wood residues, especially pine shavings and sawdust. To this end, fixed and variable costs were identified and quantified, the unit production cost per ton was calculated, the market selling price was analyzed, and a discounted cash flow forecast was prepared over 25 years.
