The new Software Tool for the Help in the Work of the Polling Boards Based on Knowledge Bases

ABSTRACT In this paper we deal with the new technological solution, which is based on knowledge bases, ontologies and new software solutions, which can help polling boards in their more efficient work. Polling boards in the election system of Bosnia and Herzegovina appoints the city/municipal electoral commission. The prevailing opinion is that polling boards are getting worse in performing the taken jobs, which are related to the election process. In order to be more efficient in their work, it is necessary that they can get to the necessary knowledge very quickly. That is why we developed for them a new automated system based on the knowledge bases and ontologies and we implemented it in Protégé-OWL editor. The work of the members of the polling boards is very responsible and for each of them is necessary the appropriate knowledge to which they have to come very quickly and the new system can surely provide them with that.
