The article analyses the issues related to the formation of thoughts and relationship of this process with the ancient knowledge of the runes of thought. The author studied ancient runes thoughts: Raido, Soulu, Dagaz, peculiarities of their functioning are identified. On the basis of a comparative analysis of the views of modern scientists about the thought process theoretical conclusions about the significance of the runic characters in the development of social communication outlined.
