Abstract
The article explores the profession-oriented training of future specialists in library, information, and archival sciences within higher technical education institutions. It highlights the necessity of an interdisciplinary and competence-based approach, emphasizing the integration of theoretical knowledge with practical training to meet the evolving needs of the information society. The study underscores the profound impact of digitalization on the field, particularly the growing role of innovative educational technologies in shaping modern curricula. These include online learning platforms, digital archives, artificial intelligence applications, and data management systems, all of which contribute to enhancing learning efficiency and professional preparedness. In response to the increasing complexity of information management, scholars advocate for the modernization of educational programs, aligning them with current labor market demands and international standards. This process involves revising curricula to incorporate contemporary digital competencies, fostering collaborations between educational institutions and employers. The inclusion of practical internships, project-based learning, and research initiatives is seen as crucial for equipping students with the hands-on experience required to succeed in professional environments. The article addresses the significance of both formal and informal education in the development of essential soft skills, including critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and management competencies. These skills are increasingly recognized as indispensable for modern information professionals who must navigate the challenges of digital transformation, ethical data management, and usercentered service provision. The study argues that the evolution of profession-oriented training in this field must align with global trends, ensuring that graduates are adaptable, technologically proficient, and capable of managing information resources effectively in an increasingly digitalized and interconnected world.
