Abstract
Projects in Egypt’s petrochemical sector operate under volatile and complex conditions that demand agile and resilient leadership approaches. Understanding how leadership behaviors translate into project success has therefore become a strategic priority for organizations in capital-intensive industries. The purpose of this study is to examine how entrepreneurial leadership influences project management success through the mediating role of team resilience. The empirical focus on five leading petrochemical companies (EPC, SIDPEC, ETHYDCO, ELAB, and EPP) was chosen to reflect a sector where project risk and operational uncertainty are exceptionally high. Data were collected in 2025 through a structured questionnaire distributed to 623 employees, resulting in 351 valid responses. Quantitative analysis was conducted using IBM SPSS Statistics to test direct and mediated relationships. The results confirmed that entrepreneurial leadership has a significant positive effect on project management success and that team resilience partially mediates this relationship, increasing the explained variance from 47 to 60 percent. These findings verify the research hypotheses and demonstrate that resilient teams act as a key mechanism through which entrepreneurial leadership enhances project outcomes. The study provides practical guidance for managers seeking to strengthen leadership capabilities and resilience practices in complex industrial environments and contributes novel empirical evidence linking leadership, resilience, and performance in a developing-economy context.
