Abstract
The purpose of this article is to highlight the results of a comprehensive study of archival documents from the collections of the Central State Scientific and Technical Archives of Ukraine, which reflect the participation of Ukrainian organizations and specialists in the scientific and technical field in the creation of industrial objects outside Ukraine. Through the prism of local projects structured according to geographical principles, attention is focused on the source potential of scientific and technical documentation as a tool for researching the political, economic, social, and cultural history of foreign countries and international relations. The research methodology is based on the principles of objectivity, historicism, systematicity, and comprehensiveness of the problem analysis; a complex of general scientific and special historical research methods was applied. The principles of historical science were used in combination with an interdisciplinary approach. The scientific novelty of the publication lies in the shift in emphasis of the traditional research focus: instead of considering scientific and technical documentation solely as a technical source, it is proposed to interpret it as multidimensional evidence of transnational processes. In the current context, this allows us to counter existing Russian narratives that downplay the contribution of Ukrainian specialists and domestic institutions to global scientific and technical progress. Prospects for further research. Archival scientific and technical documents provide a basis for analyzing individual objects and groups by thematic, territorial, and sectoral characteristics, which opens up new directions in the study of the history of science and technology, archival science, and international scientific cooperation. Conclusions. Documents from the Central State Scientific and Technical Archive of Ukraine record the participation of Ukrainian research and design institutions in the implementation of industrial and infrastructure projects in more than thirty countries around the world. Their comprehensive source study allows us to highlight the significance of Ukrainian professional potential in the context of global technical integration in the second half of the 20th century. Archival documents become the basis for a scientific rethinking of postcolonial approaches to the role of Ukrainian institutions in the international dimension of the history of science and technology.
