Abstract
Böhler K110material is used in High-duty cutting tools, blanking and punching tools& small moulds for the plastics industry where excellent wear resistance is required. It is difficult to machine the material in the hardened state (58 HRc). This paper presents the optimization of surface roughness &tool wear in hard part turning (HPT) of Bohler K110 steel. Uncoated Carbide inserts were used for machining of Bohler K110 to study effects of process parameters [Cutting speed (S), Feed (F) and depth of cut (D)].Grey Relational analysis is used to optimize the multi performance characteristics to minimise the surface roughness and tool wear
