Abstract
The objective of the current study was to develop mathematical models that described the pharmacokinetic behavior of prednisolone in healthy subjects after the oral administration of prednisolone. The current study is a companion piece of a related Leclercq and Copinsehi prednisolone study published in the February 1974 issue of the Journal of Pharmacokinetics and Biopharmaceutics. In the study cited here, plasma concentration versus time profiles of prednisolone were determined, however, no mathematical models of the pharmacokinetic behavior of prednisolone were developed. Therefore in the current study, mathematical models of the pharmacokinetic behavior of prednisolone were developed using mathematical and computational tools from the theory of dynamic systems. The current study demonstrated the successful use of mathematical and computational tools from the theory of dynamic systems in pharmacokinetic modeling.
