GLYCOSYLATED HEMOGLOBIN AS A RISK ASSESSMENT OF THE CARDIOVASCULAR LESIONS IN PATIENTS WITH TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS

Abstract
Objective. Determine the prevalence of disorders of carbohydrate metabolism in study of ukrainian population. Materials and methods. The study involved 1,148 people, which was measured by glycosylated hemoglobin The results of the study. The highest level of HbAlc was found in 23% of males and 48% of females. Conclusions. 1. The screening of carbohydrate metabolism disorders by definition of HbAlc level reveals an increase the HbAlc level in 23% of males and 48% of females of the study cohort. 2. The greatest number of people with high HbAlc level was observed in the age group above 59 years old. 3. Active detection of violations of carbohydrate metabolism by definition of HbAlc level enables patients to make change lifestyle and begin treatment of undiagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus, that diminish the negative impact of hyperglycemia and the development of cardiovascular disease.
