Research study of self-cognition as a cognitive basis of self-development

Abstract

The scientific approaches to the research study of self-cognition were systematized. Relevance of self-cognition involvement into the training process was given. It was revealed the role of self-cognition as a significant cognitive resource of personal development that could open a number of prospects for research and training works. Psychological patterns and developing mechanisms of the process of student’s self-cognition within existential circle of everyday life were substantiated. The binary nature of self-cognition which integrated both subject and object of cognition was studied. It was found a special construct which allows taking into consideration the whole range of characteristics and variety of manifestations of the complex phenomenon of self-cognition. The special instruments for training process self-management were developed. They allow students to choose an optimal training strategy. The influencing character of self-cognition on cognitive, meaningful and activity indicators of the effectiveness of self-development was identified.
