Routing Protocols for Wireless Sensor Networks
Journal: International Journal of Research in Science & Technology (Vol.1, No. 10)Publication Date: 2014-11-24
Abstract
It evaluates the performance of prominent on demand routing protocols, which are Ad Hoc On ?Demand Distance vector Routing(AODV),Dynamic Source Routing(DSR)for wireless sensor networks Results obtained from simulations demonstrates that even though AODV and DSR share a similar on demand behavior, the differences in protocol mechanics can lead to significant performance differentials. The performance differentials are analyzed using varying network load and network size using PHENOM ATTRIBUTES NS-2 is used as a platform for simulatingAODV&DSR under various conditions.PHENOM routing protocol is designed especially for wireless sensor networks. Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are characterized by multi-hop wireless connectivity, frequently changing network topology and need for efficient routing protocols.
