Abstract
This study was made in paediatric patients affected by diabetes mellitus type 1. Fasting blood samples were obtained to determine glucose, bilirrubin, uric acid, ascorbic acid, ceruloplasmin , albúmin and LDLox levels. We found high levels of LDL ox and glycemia, and low levels of the rest of the antioxidants. We conclude that oxidative stress was present in these patients.
