Abstract
The concept individualism may become popular in the modern era. However, it does not mean that it has been incepted in the modern era. This paper will discuss that the scholars and philosophers of the ancient period for the first time discussed about individual and said that individual is the core of the society. In connection to this, study will explore the Confucius’s concept of individual which was the first concept about individual. It will also discuss that this philosophy is still functional in present days and can be applied to overcome social problems of society.
