Abstract
The comparative analysis of analytical and numerical methods for calculating the modes of mechanized arc welding of steels in shielding gases without short circuits has been given. The analytical solution of the Fourier heat equation allows us to describe the temperature distribution in the unfused part of electrode. It is shown that the calculation results obtained by analytical and numerical methods are practically identical, but the analytical method of calculation other than simplicity has some other significant advantages
