Abstract
In order to achieve a multiscale image representation and texture extraction for textured image, a hierarchical decomposition model is proposed. Firstly, the model is replaced by the fixed scale parameter of the original decomposition with a varying sequence in a curvelet framework. To achieve a multiscale representation, a refinement decomposition to the residual of the previous step is performed. In this manner, we can obtain a hierarchical representation of the given image. Various numerical results on decomposition of images are presented and they show that the model is valid.
