Abstract
This article is devoted to analysis and the structural description of a way of making onomatopoetic words of the Korean language, namely a reduplication. Having studied works of such outstanding linguists as Li Kivon, Li Iksop, Li Sanok and Chkhe Van on the Korean linguistics, we concluded that reduplication is the main means of the onomatopoetic word formation to some extent, and all onomatopoetic words of the Korean language were divided into 7 types depending on how the reduplication goes. Onomatopoetic words play an exclusive role, both in written language, and in informal conversation in languages of an agglutinative system, in particular in the Korean language. In addition, materials of this research can be used at studying the Korean language, and for further research of onomatopoetic lexicon of Korean and kindred languages.
