Abstract

We report a case of acute myocardial infarction successfully treated with rescue percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) after failed fibrinolytic theraphy at 18th week of pregnancy. A 35-year-old multigravid woman was admitted to our emergency department with the complaints on chest pain and dyspnea lasting for 30 minutes. Diagnosis of an acute myocardial infarction was established and rescue PCI was performed after failed fibrinolytic theraphy. Coronary angiography revealed critical stenosis of the left anterior descending artery and bare metal stent was implanted successfully at the end of the procedure. The management of pregnant women with acute coronary syndrome should follow the usual standard of care in consideration of maternal and fetal complications.
