Abstract
This paper summarises the results obtained in the course of researches the use of gas-powder mixture in the TIG welding of stainless steels. The conducted researches had shown that when compared to traditional welding technique, the use of gas-powder mixture in the welding of stainless steels provides the increase of melting ability to 300 %, improve the quality of welding joints, reduce the complexity of the process of applying flux, allows to apply the fluxes during the welding in any position, economical use of fluxes, welding with the filler wire as well as without it, increase the stability of the process, and the possibility of the automation of the welding process with the use of gas-powder mixture (argon + activating fluxes).
