Abstract
Idioms escorted language almost since its inception. They reflect the culture and national character in certain historical periods. This article examines the variability of idioms related to the products and food as an example of how one and the same object, depending on context, can carry a different semantic loading, especially one that is familiar to us everyday life. This topic is interesting by its specifics and a lot of examples allowing to consider more info the culture of English speech.
