Abstract
Article is devoted to the privacy and private communications confidentiality issues. The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe regulation practice about privacy and private communications confidentiality and basic features of domestic Ukrainian experience in this field are analyzed. Such resolutions as ?Impact of the new communication and information technologies on democracy?, ?Right to privacy?, ?Video surveillance of public areas?, ?The protection of privacy and personal data on the Internet and online media?, ?Mass surveillance? are described. The main goal of this study is to determine general perspectives and basic directions of Ukrainian legislation improvement in the privacy area.
