Abstract
Petri nets are one of the formalisms for research of complex systems. Due to such advantages as the visibility and clarity of the presentation and a variety of analysis capabilities, they are widely used in simulation modeling. The article presents the most promising extensions of Petri nets in terms of complex systems research. The author considers their features and advantages. The conclusion of the article put forward a proposal on the use of considered modifications for the development of embedded machines of hybrid Petri nets.
