Abstract
The paper presents a detailed analysis of the religious processes in Chernivtsi Oblast, which took place during the period under study. The revival of the Church and religious life of the region and the specifics of church-state, interfaith and inter-religious relations in the post-Soviet time and at an early stage of Ukraine’s sovereignty are characterized. Particular attention is paid to the autocephalous movement in the region in the context of sociopolitical transformations and the efforts to establish its status.
