Abstract

This work is devoted to the concept of humanitarization of engineering eduction. In this connection is analyzed the philosophical and methodological foundation of Technology Assessment (TA). TA is not only a problem-oriented research but also project-oriented one. Here the creative development and design of a desired future model is meant, which is a new functioning level of the “world-engineering-human” system in the context of “moral design metaphysics”. The idea of humanitarian and technological synthesis is a base for the reform of engineering education whose aim is to overcome its technocratic narrowness. This principle gains a philosophical meaning in the global context of cultural studies. TA can be considered as an interdisciplinary research targeted at solving social and political problems which appear in the “Weltraum”. That is why the suggested solutions of such problems should prove their practical relevance beyond technoscience. The article shows the possible ways to avoid fundamental disproportions in modern cultural formation. Humanitarian and technological synthesis is a deep cultural and historical strategy arising from a new way of human existence and, thus, being able to change the human conscious.
