Abstract
The article is devoted to “Hatter’s Castle”, the most famous novel written by Scottish novelist of the XXth century Archibald Joseph Cronin. The main character of the novel, James Brodie, is analyzed from the viewpoint of psychopathology. The influence of medical profession on Cronin’s literary work is stated.
