Abstract
Endometrial cancer (EC) ranks as the fourth most common cancer among women and the most common malignant neoplasm of the female genital tract in the USA. It most commonly occurs after the age of 50 and prognosis depends largely on the stage of the disease at the time of diagnosis. The overall lifetime risk of developing EC is approximately 2.5%. The risk of EC in a population of asymptomatic postmenopausal women is reported to be 0.2%.
