Physical education young South Ukraine (late XIX - early XX centuries): historiography problems

In the article the achievements of a wide range of researchers who studied the formation and development of physical education of young people in the Russian Empire and in particular the southern region of Ukraine, part of it during the late XIX - early XX century. The main areas of research theory this problem. Attention is drawn to the peculiarities of coverage and understanding of problems of formation of physical education researchers from different periods. Thesis there is determined stages of research theory and practice of physical education of youth definite period. The study found that of historiographical perspective, the question of formation of physical education among young people remains unexplored.
