У цьому році виповнюється 155 років з дня народження Василя Дмитровича Огієвського ? уродженця Сумщини, видатного вітчизняного лісівника з широким кругозором географа та геоботаніка, одного з основоположників лісової дослідної справи. Vysotsky - the outstanding Ukrainian scientist in the field of forestry, soil science, geobotany, physical geography and hydrology, academician, the founder of the science of forest and forestry research. Author of over 200 scientific papers. He studied the effects of forests on the water regime of the area, laid the foundation soil hydrology in arid areas, developed the theory of transgressive role of forests, oak forests classification and deservedly recognized luminary steppe afforestation. Of great importance are developed by scientists to steppe conditions of trees and shrubs, trees and shady types of forest plantations.
