Abstract
Monitoring medical errors has a proven positive impact on improving health-care quality. This study is designed to discuss the statistical surveillance methods and propose useful procedures to medical practitioners for monitoring time between medical errors. Variable time between events (TBE) control charts are constructed in order to monitor time betwe en dosing errors. Results indicate that the variable TBE control charts can easily be integrated to the medical error monitoring processes. Several methods are considered to analyze the dozing error data and discussion is provided for medical decision make rs to apply a better medical error monitoring program.
