Abstract

Teaching reflection is an important approach to improving pre-service English teachers’ teaching and increasing their teaching quality; moreover, the ability of teaching reflection is a vital factor for their professional development. Based on one-semester empirical studies, this paper illustrates the theory of automatic recording and broadcasting system (ARBS), proposes ARBS-based reflective teaching model, consisting of “observation→ recoding→ analysis→ presentation→ negotiation→ practice”, and finds out that ARBS-based observation is more accurate and convenient than traditional classroom observation, especially for complicated questions, the former can provide more authentic and sufficient information; therefore, the effectiveness of teaching reflection can be enhanced and the professional development for pre-service English teachers accelerated.
