Abstract
In this paper, we propose an efficient algorithm to guarantee QoS by considering transmission delay and packet loss, which of all are the most important parameters of QoS in transmitting real-time multimedia data on the IP-based network, eventually re-transmitting the packets adaptively to current network state. Generally in transmitting data on the IP-based network, the restricted network bandwidth causes jitter and packet losses. Since the transmission delay larger than allowed delay, can occur packet loss, especially in the real-time application services such as VoIP, video conference, it is required that compensate the jitter effect and packet loss to guarantee QoS. In this paper, we consider the delay property of "Receive Delay Path", which is used to exclude the jitter effect in H.323 specification, in addition to the current packet loss rate of network, consequently propose and implement the retransmission method that operates with the network statistics.
