Abstract

The main problem of modern dentistry today is implementation of modern methods of diagnostics and planning of orthopedic treatment of patients with preserved roots using dental post constructions especially on the background of generalized parodontitis. Objective was to reason the methods of root inclination diagnosis and planning of tooth stump restoration using modern 3D scanner and intraradicular dental posts. Materials and methods. 3D scanning of the oral cavity was performed during the examination of patients with dental hard tissues defects. We conducted clinical and X-ray examination of patients. We used 3D intraoral scanner 3SHAPE and 3D scanner 3SHAPE to scan models and impressions as well as intraradicular drill guides for diagnostics of the prepared root canal depth, its shape and axis inclination. With the use of 3D scanner 3 SHAPE we examined 35 patients with dental hard tissues defects and destroyed crown part. The defects were reconstructed by the proposed method. We defined and conducted the analysis of papillary bleeding index (PBI), Schiller-Pisarev test and Sillness - Loe hygiene index. Results. We have found that modern scanning technique with the use of 3D scanner 3 SHAPE allows diagnosing clinical situation on 3D computer model, determining the root axis and conducting an objective clinical planning of orthopedic treatment. Significant improvement of clinical indices PBI, Sillness - Loe and Schiller-Pisarev test in 1, 3 and 6 months compared with the level before treatment points to the benefits of the proposed fiberglass dental posts with altered axis in case of defects in the dental hard tissues and a periodontal disease.
