Abstract
Journals are considered a source of secondary bibliography that offers a variety of angles through which the consecrated author’s lives and works can be analyzed. From the most representative works we considered relevant those of Mircea Eliade, Mihail Sebastian and the Acterian brothers (Haig, Asavir and Jeny). We can create a glossary of relevant recurrent themes among the leading figures of the Romanian intellectuals in the inter-war period such as: the need for affirmation of their generation, concern for a broader knowledge (literature, music, nature, traveling), an apprehension about failure and death. Also, we can list a number of personalities that had a deep impact on their intellectual formation such as Nae Ionescu that manifested them through the Criterion Group.
