Abstract
The internet was one of the most important phenomenon’s that impacted the twentyfirst century, generating significant consequences for education. The society of knowledge has shifted from learning from an ideal of value to learning from an ideal of efficiency. The problem that this brings is that education is no longer viewed as an emancipation process, but is now based on how mathematical theory defines information and portrays the question of meaning. Education researchers tend to not question the fundamentals of cybernetic science. The objective of this article is to discuss Wilhelm Dilthey’s concept of lived experience and apply it to education as an alternative to Warren Weaver, Claude Shannon, and Norbert Weiner’s mathematical theory point of view.
