Abstract
The existence of the Intelligence goes back to immemorial times and it can be said that it is as old as humankind and it that developed in parallel with the armies and their needs for accurate information from the enemy's territory. The Intelligence, that evolved continually in time, means knowledge, therefore power. Nothing in this world is better rooted in the nations', epochs' and civilizations' practice than its activity. The historians and analysts of the Intelligence have proved that this activity is vital for nations and states and that its role in international politics has grown, forcing researchers to adapt to this evolution. The understanding of the Intelligence in the 21st century is based on the history of this domain, bringing together opinions of university professors, of journalists, and of course, of professionals.
