AMİRAN KURTKAN BİLGİSEVEN AND HER UNDERSTANDING OF TASAWWUF

As a sociologist Amiran Kurtkan Bilgiseven also had some studies on Islamic Sufism. She studied the important characters of Islamic Sufism history, absorbed their thoughts,developed some new understandings by an individual point of view. Kurgan dealt with the Islamic Sufism sociologically and also she presented a new understanding by reviewing this field of science. Unity of existence (vahdet-i vücut) which is the one of the subjects of the main issues of the Islamic Sufism constituted the basic of Kurtkan’s Islamic Sufism. Kurtkan indicated that Unity of existence can be reached by the innate science(ilm-i ledün) which is the essence of the sciences and she described innate science as inner truth of Koran which has a universal consent, and she claimed that only perfect man (Muhammad or the person who has reached the perfection) can understand this completely. As a follower of Melami order Kurtkan who reflected the understanding of Islamic Sufism of Melamilik for her thoughts upheld the togetherness of both social and economical fields as her own fields of study and Islamic Sufism .Kurtkan hasn’t isolate the Islamic Sufism from her fields of study, as well as the fact that she claimed that all the other sciences has a Sufism relations and she indicated that the ideas with the center of Sufism should be produced.
