AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE SUFFIX OF +ki AND THE STRUCTURE OF +DAki

Abstract
Language is a constantly developing and changing communication tool. Revealing the phonological, morphological, syntactic and semantic features of a language’s change and development stages plays an important role in language studies.In this contex, this study aims to determine the grammatical issues about the suffix of +ki and the structure of +DAki through examining them by means of respective study method and taking the change and development principles on wich language depends into consideration. While collecting datum in accordance with the purpose of study and determining the grammatical issues, the model of scanning primary grammar boks on topic has been used and current situation has been handled as it exist. By using the method of respective study method, the grammatical issues determined at the and of each stage have been revealed. The findings obtained from the first stage of this two-stage study are the nominations about the suffix +ki and about the form and functions of the suffix +ki. The usage of the suffix +ki in Old Turkish, Kypchak Turkish, Chagatai Turkish, Kharezm Turkish, Old Anatolian Turkish, Ottoman Turkish and modern Turkish has been examined through present studies and some findings have been obtained. The findings of the second stage are the answers to the questions whether the structure of +DAki is a compound affix pharase or not and whether it is a derivational affix or on ending. In the result part of the study, the suggestions and issues determined about the suffix +ki and the structure of +DAki have been revealed.
