Abstract
It is known that teachers have carried various visual instructional materials into teaching process. It is thought that the visual instructional materials’ impressive characteristics which play key role in occurring permanent learning, amusing time in in the classroom, must be employed in classrooms. Because instructional comics have two essential features. First one is that picture and writing are presented together so that students can learn more effectively. The second one is that they constitute amusing classroom atmosphere by using humour. In this context, Impact of the instructional comics on attitudes towards the Citizenship and Democracy Education was investigated. Therefore, the study was designed in quasi experimental research with control group. The sample of the study consisted of 152 students studying 8th grade in Artvin in 2013-2014 instructional year. Attitude Scale Towards Every Human is Precious Theme developed by the researchers. The data was analysed through one-way ANOVA. It was concluded that instructional comics have positive impacts on attitudes towards the Citizenship and Democracy Education course.
