Abstract

The purpose of the research was to study the clinical course of chemoresistant tuberculosis (CRTB) among Kharkiv region patients, Ukraine. It was determined that in patients with CRTB clinical picture of the disease was more pronounced than in those with newly diagnosed TB and relapsed TB. Among patients with CRTB 100% cases were determined to be resistant to three major drugs of the 1st group (isoniazid, rifampicin, streptomycin). In patients with multiple drug resistance in 90% cases Mycobacterium tuberculosis was resistant to not less than 7 drugs. As a result, in patients treated as a general health category, positive dynamics was obtained in 64.3% of cases, which was significantly higher than in the palliative treatment group. Negative dynamics and torpid course were significantly higher in cases with palliative treatment. Mortality in both groups did not extend beyond the statistical indicators of mortality in TB facilities in Ukraine.
