Abstract

Curriculum vitae of major general, Doctor of Medicine M.A.Shamashkin (1895-1972) is presented in the article. Since the year 1919 as the senior physician of a regiment he participated in Civil War in the Western and Southern front lines. From 1935 till 1939 he headed medical departments of the Moscow and Kharkov military districts. During the Great Patriotic War he was the chief of medical departments of the Northwestern (1941-1943), 2nd Belarussian, 3rd Baltic (1944-1945) military fronts. Together with scientists he improved organization and methods of medical aid for wounded men and patients. After the war he headed medical department of Privolzhsky military district. Since the year 1948 he was the Chief of the Department of Military Faculty in the Central Extension Course Institute for Medical Practitioners in Moscow. In 1950 he was dismissed from military service. He was awarded 6 awards and a lot of medals.
