Abstract
Aim of study was to investigate genotoxic and cytotoxic effects in host somatic cells before and after combined treatment of taenids invasions. Materials and methods. Two series of experiments on golden hamsters and on blood of patients with taeniasis before and after treatment using method of ?DNA-comets? were performed. Results and discussion. Invasion of taenids in animals and human results in genotoxic and cytotoxic effects in somatic cells. Treatment of patients with taeniasis by means of praziquentel in combination with indometacin and antioxidant vitamin complex with selenium and digestive ferment drug containing lipase, amylase, protease is optimal because it protects genome of patients from genotoxic and cytotoxic influences of parasites.
