Abstract
In this article on the example of the Old French lexeme “clere” the features of abstract adjectives semantics at the early stage of language development are considered. On the basis of the analysis of thematic contexts the usage of “clere” as a functional and semantic equivalent of evaluation adjectives is considered as the mechanism of adjective semantic structure change
