Abstract

This article puts forward the critiques of legal education offered by critical legal studies and feminist legal theory. Both schools of legal theory focus on hierarchical structure of present day legal education. In addition to the critiques of hierarchy, feminist legal theorists also emphasize the importance of making room for real life experiences in legal education, which are dominated and subordinated by the male constructed legal theory and its education. In order to deconstruct the male dominated education system, feminist legal theorists discuss and implement various types of education methods. One of these alternative methods is legal clinics. Legal clinics being the supplementary component of theoretical education, fosters the education of lawyers that are ready to realize the justice. In this context, lawyers, who are aware of the connection between law and justice, shall internalize the responsibility of eliminating the gender inequalities.
