Abstract

The unsteady, two dimensional, mixed convection flow of an viscous incompressible electrically conducting micropolar fluid over a vertical and imp ermeable stretching surface in the presence of Magnetic field, Heat source/sink and mass transfer when the buoyancy force assists os opposes the flow has been studied. Using the similarity transformations, the governing equations have been transformed into a system of ordinary differential equations. These differential equations are highly nonlinear which cannot be solved analytically. Therefore, fourth order Runge - Kutta method along with shooting technique has been used for solving it. Numerical results ar e obtained for the skin - friction coefficient, the couple wall stress, the local Nusselt number and Sherwood number as well as the velocity, microrotation, temperature and concentration profiles for different values of the governing parameters, namely, mate rial parameter, magnetic parameter, unsteadiness parameter, heat source/sink parameter, Eckert number and Schmidt number.
